Yeah, it's borked
Back at tax time, I bought a vacuum cleaner for my apartment. Considering that most of my apartment is carpeted, it's definitely a necessity. Well, now it seems I can't vacuum more than two square feet of carpet before the vacuum is hopelessly plugged up and I have to take it apart, unclog it, put it back together and start vacuuming again. My assumption is that my pets are shedding far more than I had imagined and that I am now finding out just what happens when they do. A new vacuum is in my near future, I can tell.
I found one at Wal-Mart today that I want....the Dirt Devil Purpose for Pets. It's designed to deal with pet hair. My current belief is that this will be a good thing. Not only that, but.... it's only $75! Now THAT is what I call value.... a good brand name vacuum, designed to put up with pet hair, and it's only $75. I like that. I really do. I found a small steam cleaner by Bissell that's about $70, so at tax time, if I get enough back, or I have enough saved from blogging, I'll go ahead and get that so I can do some steam cleaning of my carpets. I'd like to have my carpets look as nice as they can, since they're a light color. They look pretty raunchy right now, so a steam cleaning is definitely in order. I had a couple people at work tell me not to clean my carpets since I rent, to have the landlord do it, but I figure I'm the one who dirtied them up, I should be the one to clean them.
However, I have made progress in getting the apartment cleaned up despite the lack of properly working vacuum. I can still use the vacuum, I just have to stop and unclog it every few minutes. But I have gotten a corner that previously was just full of crap cleaned out and vacuumed, so that's looking nice now. I just have to get the rest of that section of the apartment looking nice. :)
