A kind donation. Yes, I'm sure you've all figured that one out, especially at Christmas when every charity on the planet seems to have their hands out. But I found one that is rather unique to say the least. Car Angel looks for you to donate cars to assist them in their goal of providing quality videos to children and teens for free. They're a non-profit organization that has provided videos, free of charge, to over 2.4 million children and teens. They basically turn your old car into cash and use the money to produce the videos. It's a neat concept and it allows people to do something worthwhile with their old cars instead of just junking them. You can even see an example of one of the videos they produce with this money below. So think about it, wouldn't you like to do something worthwhile with that old car?
How are you spending New Year's Eve?
That's an easy question. I'm spending my New Year's Eve at work. I get off at midnight, so I'll be getting off work just about the same time 2008 actually arrives. Go figure.
One of the gals I work with just got a new car and she's quite irritated that she already has to take it in and have the stereo replaced. And this is a brand new car, it's not a used one. So yeah, I'd be ticked off too. Plus, her boyfriend couldn't even be bothered to get her anything for Christmas, not even a Chrysler 300 accessory for her new car. Now how lame is that? Yeah, she's not been a happy camper the past few days at work. Not at all.
What's the best photo you took this year? Show and tell!
I have no idea. I haven't gotten any of my pictures developed yet. LOL
If there's one thing I have to say that I am glad of, it's that I am not moving any time soon. I don't want to have to look for a mover here, much less for a mover NYC. So I'll not be moving to NYC anytime soon, and I won't be moving HERE anytime soon. :) Just not in the cards right now. Right now, new books and a prosperity spell are what's in the cards for me. I'm going to be starting a week-long prosperity spell that will end next Saturday with a small ritual to end the spell. I have the necessities, I just need to start the spell. This should be fairly interesting as I've not cast a spell in a long time. I've done rituals for Esbats and Sabbats, but I've not cast any spells for a good 3 years. Well, we shall definitely see what this brings.
What's the best book you read this year?
My goodness, I read so many books this year, it's hard to pick just one. :/ I'd say the best one so far is the one I'm reading right now, but I'm only half way finished with it, so I suppose that one doesn't count. I'm sure I'll get more read this weekend though while I'm off work. :) Oh yeah, that's Dragons of Autumn Twilight by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. It's the first book in the Chronicles trilogy of Dragonlance.
I do not wish to receive your stupid emails anymore. I don't read them and most times I add you to my block list in my anti-spam program. I am not looking for male enhancements or viagra. I'm really not caring about OEM software either. I don't want to purchase any body shop supplies. I am most definitely not interested in looking at pictures from a "nice girl" who is "bored." What on earth makes you think I'd click that link? Oh yes, and the lovely spoof emails I get for eBay and PayPal. Those are lovely and frankly obvious since they only come to email addresses that I DON'T use for those services. Duh. I swear, spammers are the dumbest people on earth. LOL
I'm so tired of my shoes. The problem I have with buying shoes is that it's so hard to find ones that actually fit me. I've seen some really cute shoes and boots that I'd love to get, but they never seem to come in my size. The one day, I was at the mall and I saw these totally awesome platform shoes, really goth looking ones that I absolutely adored. Go figure, I'm size 11W and they stopped at like, 10 regular width. All I could say was UGH. Once in a blue moon I can wear a 10 in a shoe, but it always has to be wide. And of course, those are even harder to find than 11's. When will the shoe companies learn to produce fashionable shoes for those of us with big feet?
Today is my birthday and how am I spending it? By worrying about my bills and how badly I've screwed my finances up. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I've stuck myself into a hole I'm finding it very hard to get out of. A few things are going to have to go, and I'm thinking my Blockbuster Online membership is going to be one of them. My digital phone that I have through my cable company is another. One thing is for sure, I won't be buying any raymond weil watches in the near future. At this point, I'll be lucky to be able to do my laundry. *sigh* I've really got to learn to manage my money better. I honestly, truly do.
I was looking at some different websites and I was checking out some of the things that people were wearing. I saw a lot of things that people don't wear, at least around here. I haven't seen anyone wearing stuff like a gold anklet for a long time. The other day, I actually found a picture of someone wearing leg warmers. I haven't seen anyone wear those since the 80's. I wouldn't even know where to find those now. It's really interesting what people used to wear, and what they still wear.
I think my favorite are the bell bottoms that we don't call bell bottoms anymore. We call them flare leg pants, and they aren't quite as wide as the bell bottoms were, but they're still basically speaking, bell bottoms. I'm guilty of wearing them as well, and in fact, I prefer them to straight leg pants. I just think they look better. And you can use them to hide your shoes. :)
Part of my goals for my apartment is to get decent furniture in the apartment. I've already gotten a start with my couch. Also on the list are coffee table and end tables, a bigger TV (I have a 13 inch right now), and some sort of entertainment center. I've looked at a few tv stands, but nothing so far has caught my eye. As far as the TV goes, I'd like to get at least a 19 inch TV.
I also want to rearrange my apartment so that my TV and couch are in the same section as the fireplace is, and then my bed and computer are in the section the TV and couch are currently in. I can't promise that the place will look as nice as I want it to, but I can at least try. I may also try to get some stuff for my walls to decorate the apartment. A steam cleaning for the carpets is definitely in order. At least I've found a few relatively inexpensive options for those. :)
Well, today is just a lazy Saturday. Woke up about 2:00 PM because my phone was ringing, got up, talked to Rick until my phone started beeping to let me know it needed to be charged. Then I went outside and cleaned up my neighbor's trash that they left on MY back porch. Grrrrr. After that, I came in the house and did some server maintenance on my reseller account, then fixed myself a spaghetti dinner. Right now, I'm sitting here blogging and eating. My cat is wandering back and forth and my dog is sleeping in the cat bed. Yes, you read that right, my dog is sleeping in the cat bed. For some reason, he prefers the cat bed to his own. *rolls eyes* Oh yes, and CSI: Miami is playing on the DVR.
I have to say, this is one of my better batches of spaghetti. I use Hunt's Spaghetti Sauce, then add hamburger, onion, extra tomatoes, beef bouillon, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Sometimes I also add mushrooms, but since this time I had mushroom flavored sauce, I skipped those. Yummy. :) I'm not a tomato fan to tell the truth, but when I doctor my sauce, it just flat out rocks if I do say so myself. :)
