I don't understand people who have no bills. People who live with their parents and spend money like it was water because although they have a job and should be helping out, they don't. I'm talking about people who aren't trying to save up to move out, people who just sit around all day, go to work, come back, then blow their paychecks on new iPods, video game systems, luxury watches, and so on. I just don't understand it. What are they going to do when cold, hard reality sets in and they end up having to stop spending on whatever they please and start spending on bills, bills, bills? Are they going to make it? Or are we going to see them sitting homeless on the street having pawned and lost all their fancy stuff they just couldn't live without?
They need to do some assessments on this town. I'm not kidding. I'd love to see what kind of results they'd get. I'm not talking about testing the people here, I'm talking about doing some phase 1 environmental impact testing on the factories and packing houses around here. Possibly even some of the government buildings and vehicles they have. I'm positive those busses here in our fair city are doing more than their fair share to destroy the environment. Sure, people could help the environment by using public transportation and leaving their cars for when they really need them, but they could help it even more by walking to where they need to go. "Hoofing" it to where you need to go might take you longer than a car ride would, but it's much better for both you and the environment. And wouldn't that be a great thing?
A PAID vacation that is. Not like the one I just had, where I've been sitting at home coughing and sniffling and being miserable and not getting paid. No, I want paid time off, a Vegas hotel, good friends, and some spending money. And I don't want to have to pay for any of it myself. LOL Too much to ask? Probably, but that doesn't mean it isn't what I want.
Vegas is one of those places I've wanted to see but have never actually done it. I've driven from Iowa to California twice and missed Vegas both times. Now how sad is that? Sure, I've seen it in movies and on TV, but that's not like actually going there! I want to GO to Vegas. I want to experience the lights, the sounds, the smells, the casinos, the shows. I don't want to just see them on a TV screen, I want to see them up close and personal. One of these days...I will. :)
I don't know about a friend of mine. She keeps telling me I should move. Well, I know I need to move, especially after what happened a week ago with the window. But she's telling me to get in touch with a real estate agent. I finally asked her why on earth I would want to do something like that. She said so I could buy my own place. I laughed at her. I'd love to buy my own place, really I would. However, since my credit is shot, that's not happening for a while.
Then she said maybe the agent could find me an apartment. Um, I don't live where you BUY apartments. Here, you rent them, no agents needed. My friend is weird. LOL. But she's cool. Come to think of it, maybe my landlord and I could work something out as far as buying a house goes. He sells them on a buy here/pay here basis. Maybe there is hope after all...
I have to say, I've always wondered about logo design. You know, like how do those companies always get such great looking logos? Even small businesses around where I live have awesome logos that are attached to their ads. Well now I think I may have figured it out. I checked out this website, LogoYes.com and let me tell you, they made it so easy to design my own logo, that I did one for my Mary Kay business. It was quick, easy, and customizable! I was able to make it be whatever color I wanted, choose from a variety of wonderful fonts, and have the logo say what I wanted. Plus, I could even make matching business cards with my logo on them. I can start branding my Mary Kay business to myself, the way I want people to view it and me as a business owner.
I'm telling you, it was easy-peasy. All I had to do was click a button to start. Choosing a symbol was easy, they have a huge variety and they update frequently with new logo designs. You're sure to find what you're looking for. The steps are so easy and the tools are so intutitive that it's impossible to make a mistake! Anyone can do this. And it's fast. I did my logo in just a couple of minutes. The longest part of the process is choosing which logo you want to use! It's just awesome. And the finished product? Well, see for yourself -
Now THAT is an awesome, quality business card. It let's me show who I am, using colors I like and a logo I love. THAT is what creating your logo and business card is all about. I definitely recommend using LogoYes.com for your business logo needs!
Clothes that is. I'm telling you, my wardrobe stinks. I have hardly anything and I'm constantly scraping outfits together. I've been told I really should go through and buy at least one outfit each payday, but you know what? I don't have closet space for that or money. I'd love to get some volcom clothing for just bumming around in, and then get some other stuff for going to work when I have to dress up. Like I do today. I hate dressing up when the weather's been crappy. The bottoms of my pants get wet when I trudge through the snow, and I don't have a choice because I have to take a cab to work today, so I have to trudge through the snow to the ATM, get the money for the cab, and then call the cab. UGH I suppose I'd better get going before it gets too late for me to get that cab in time.
I plan on moving sometime in the next year or so. I want to get out of this crappy neighborhood. I want to move closer to work. And I want to have room for some decent stuff in my place. You know, matching living room set, bedroom set, home theater lighting for atmosphere in the living room, decent sized TV with all my gaming stuff and my DVD player. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking of. How long it'll take me to move and to get everything I want, I don't know. But I do know I plan on making it happen, and I plan on making it happen soon. Especially after that whole window breaking thing from Friday night. I really want away from this neighborhood after that. Good grief.
If too much more crap happens around here, I'm gonna need to start looking at term life insurance quotes to make sure that I can provide money for my funeral! Last night some drunken morons busted out my front storm window and scared me half to death. I'm sick on top of it, so that is not helping matters at all. Sheesh, you try to zone out on your couch and someone busts your window. :P
I feel so bad for a friend of mine. This guy kept asking to borrow her cell phone to "make a quick call" and now she's got a huge cellphone bill to pay. Come to find out his "quick calls" were 40 minutes long each! :/ Makes me feel bad for calling her cell whenever I call her now. The only reason I do is because my cell phone defaults to dial cell numbers first, then home numbers. I have to actually view a contact and select the home number or it won't dial it if I hit send while in my contact list. As for borrowing a cell phone, I borrowed Cyndi's phone once, but I don't usually borrow anyone's cell phone if I can help it. Being on a plan that has 3 phones sharing 700 minutes a month, I know all too well how easy it is to go over those minutes.
I wandered about downtown today, just for giggles. I went to the Chinese buffet place and then I went to Susan's Yarn Garden and looked at yarn and asked what needles and how much yarn I'd need to do the Booda Bag for the beginners class. I was going to get the needles, but then found out that the ones I needed they were out of. LOL Go figure. She said she'd order more and stick a set back for me so I could take the class next payday. :)
Ok, I'm going to leave off for now. TTYL
One of the things I learned when my mom was on hospice and bedridden was that you can never have enough supplies. I'm talking about things such as extra sheets, towels, pillows, kleenex, baby wipes and adult pads. I spent a lot of money purchasing those items so that we'd have them when we needed them. It was a hassle and I ended up losing the sheets when my mom passed away (don't ask how, I have no idea, I think someone stole them while we were packing the house up), but at least we did the best to keep her comfy. Believe me, I wish I'd had my blogs back then because I desperately needed the stress relief that blogging provides. There were a lot of times I could have used a good blogging session to clear my head. Especially concerning the hospice that was handling my mom. We'll not go into that, I'm still upset about the things they did.
I've been to a few conventions in my life. Usually for Dungeons and Dragons. I love that game and never get to play anymore. I have 3 sets of dices, I have the Monster Manual and the Player's Handbook, plus I have miniatures for both of my characters. However, I never get to play anymore because I don't have anyone here who plays. But one of the things I noticed about the conventions was that there weren't very many trade show displays to be found. There was maybe one vendor who would have stuff you could purchase such as dice, books, miniatures, etc. Made me wonder where the big conventions that my friends always talked about were. Hmph. One of these days I'll get into a big convention. Actually, one of these days, I'll go with my friends to one. I'm too shy to go by myself. LOL
