Well, for one, it's all about driving fast, which I'm totally into. Plus, although it does require some physical fitness, it's not nearly as bad as most sports. A lot of people don't think it's a sport, but let me ask you this. Can YOU keep a car going straight at dang near 200 MPH? No? Didn't think so. So while it does require some level of fitness, you're not going to hear the guys constantly hawking exercise equipment. Nope, you definitely won't be hearing that.
So who's my favorite driver? Well, Tony Stewart of course. Kyle Busch is coming in a close second though. I love the "bad boys" and these guys have attitude and tell it like it is. I like that. I really do. :)
I'd love to be able to the the NASCAR station on Sirius, but I only have internet radio right now, and that channel isn't on the internet radio. :( I wish it was. I dont' pay for my Sirius subscription, but I do have to pay for the radio itself. I don't have one and can't afford one right now. But I want one. I wanna hear Tony's show! :(
The weather is supposed to be really nice this weekend. So what am I thinking? Well, even though I don't have a patio or a decent porch, my best friend and her mom do. Too bad none of us has any money, because if we did, I'd say we should get some nice patio furniture and have a nice little cookout outside on the porch. We were going to do it for Memorial Day, but it was kind of icky on Memorial Day so we never did it. It wasn't raining, but it was really hot, so we didn't bother with it at all. We just made hot dogs in crescent rolls (pigs in a blanket) and had chips and pop in the house. :)
Oh yeah, I got my new coffee table and end tables. I'll have to grab a pic with my phone and put it on here so you can see them. I really like them, I just have to find decent lamps to put on them. LOL
Ok, living in Iowa, I've heard some really funny reactions to my saying I live here. I've been asked if I live on a farm. I've been asked if my house is in a corn field. I've gotten the reaction of "oh, it's cowboys and indians there isn't it?" So I suppose it shouldn't have surprised me when someone asked me about horse supplements. It really shouldn't have. I just don't know why the heck anyone would ask me, since I know nothing about them. I don't even live in the country! I live in the city! Good grief! LOL
I picked out my new coffee table and end tables yesterday. They'll be delivered on the 27th. I'm oddly excited to be obtaining furniture that will "round out" my living room. The problem is, in an efficiency apartment, there is no "living room." There's one big room that serves as living, dining, and bedroom in one. My kitchen and bathroom are separate, which surprised a friend of mine, as usually the kitchen in an efficiency bleeds into the rest of the place. Not in mine. My next furniture purchase, I'm thinking, will be a new bed, although I'm considering not getting a bed until I can move into a new place that would allow me to have an actual bedroom. I am still out however on whether to get a normal mattress or a memory foam mattress. A friend has a memory foam mattress and swears by it. I'll just have to see what the future brings I guess. First I've got to get the laptop and the coffee and end tables paid for.
Well, I'm not the most fashion conscious person, however, I do occasionally get curious as to what people like to use to accessorize their favorite outfits. Myself, I'm partial to things like vintage sunglasses, jelly bracelets, and earrings. My best friend only really uses accessories when she's going to church, when she puts in a pair of earrings and puts on a bracelet. There's a couple gals at work who wouldn't think of stepping out without their shoes and purse matching perfectly. To me it's really funny because I honestly don't see the real point in it. Then again, I lost my taste for accessories when I wore a pair of earrings to school, a teacher saw them and said nothing, then complimented my best friend on them when she wore them and got upset when my best friend pointed out that they were, in fact, my earrings and that I'd worn them before. LOL
Ok, everyone at work is going on and on about how they need to get to the tanning salons and go tanning. Myself, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I'm not that worried about what color my skin is during any time of the year. As long as it's not a shade that means there's something wrong with me, I'm good. Did you know that there's also products for skin whitening? I didn't, and with the way people talk about going tanning all the time, I wouldn't have thought there would be such a thing. I guess it just goes to show that there's always something else you can do with your skin.
Ok, I work in tech support for computers, but I still don't have a clue as to what some components are. Of course, now that I'll be going to Sirius Satellite Radio instead, because we don't have the ISP tech support project anymore, I guess I don't really need to know what a HDMI switch is, now do I? But I suppose if I want to continue upon my current path at Stream U, I'll have to learn anyways.
Oh and for reference I still laugh at the fact that I took an "advanced HTML" class from Stream U that included CSS coding and I actually had to CORRECT THE TEACHER'S WORK to make it look the way it was supposed to. Lovely. ;)
I'm telling you, it's no wonder a lot of business people are in need of a darn good drug rehab! After all the crap I've been through over the past 3 days due to the fact that our project decided to pull from our call center and having to decide which of 2 projects that don't really interest me at all I want to go to. I chose the lesser of the 2 evils, but still. It's not been a good week at all. To think if they'd come clean about this a couple days earlier, I could have very easily gone to a different job that I was hired for. I can't believe this crap and I just feel like screaming.
Well, I thought I might do something with my stimulus check to make my apartment a little more home-like than it is, but then I decided to buy books instead. Go figure. :) The bookwork struck again, and I picked up books instead of the curtains I'd originally considered getting. I picked up a few titles like "The Secret", "The Dirt" (Motley Crue), "The Heroin Diaries" (Nikki Sixx), "Tommyland" (Tommy Lee), "The Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem, and Metal Magic", and "Ghost Hunters: William James and the Scientific Hunt for Life after Death."
Ok, I'm Wiccan, which explains the magic book and to a degree "The Secret" as it's been suggested to me more than once as a good book to look at for the Wiccan. "The Dirt", "The Heroin Diaries", and "Tommyland" are because I am a HUGE Motley Crue fan! :) "Ghost Hunters" is because I adore ghosts and hauntings. I'm a weirdo, I'm telling you. :)
I mixed up how I got the books though. I got a couple at our local Barnes & Noble store, 3 of the books I got at Barnes & Noble's website, and the other book I got a Amazon.com. LOL I was all over the place, wasn't I?
I've started "The Dirt" and it's a good one if you ask me. Of course, you have to be into rock band autobiographies to want to read it. "Tommyland" I've already read twice. Now I'm getting a copy to own. And "The Heroin Diaries" I've wanted to read since I heard about it. Woohoo. :)
Any books you're looking forward to reading?
I am NOT an American Idol fan. Never have been. Frankly, I can't get into it, most likely due to Simon. I understand that they need someone to provide criticism, but someone who acts in general like he has a cactus firmly stuck up his backside is not the kind of person I want providing criticism. It should be constructive, not the crap that spews from Simon's mouth. In any case, they sent the one person my best friend and her mom, who do watch the show home. I'm not going to say who in case there are readers who haven't seen it yet, but let me just say that one of the two that my friend and her mom wanted gone is gone, and there's one to go. Myself, if I had to choose, I want Syesha to win. I never have cared for the guys on Idol, except for Daughtry. I like him. Not a Taylor Hick, Bo Bice, or Clay Aiken fan. Sorry.
