For whatever reason, I am no longer subscribed to the pod casts I used to be subscribed to. They just don't download to my iTunes anymore. I realized this when I went to sync my iPod and didn't have any pod casts. LOL I mean, they weren't about stuff like Blue Cross North Carolina obviously, but they were about music and stuff like that.
I'm sure BFL will be loading pod casts of her pastor's sermons from Sioux City Central Assembly of God. I have to say, it was a novel idea, and if she ever happens to miss a Sunday she and her mom can now listen to the sermon regardless. As soon as it's posted that is. ;)
Oh well, I don't think the loss of my pod casts is too big of a deal. I can always search for and subscribe to more pod casts. I'm more interested right now in loading up with music. And getting the iPod charged. Which is taking forever. Anyone else have an iPod Shuffle that takes forever to charge?
Well, BFL now has her iPod. She's happy. She's filling it up with music right now. Which reminded me that I needed to get mine out of the trunk of the car (don't ask) and see if it was still working. As far as I can tell it does, and it's currently charging up after being synced with some new music. ;)
Now my doctor is screaming at me that my blood pressure is up. Um, hello? If I have a migraine for a week, I'm going to have elevated blood pressure. Pain does that. You're a doctor. You should know that. It's not because I'm taking the best diet pills or anything like that. It's because I had a migraine. You know, that thing you gave me a shot of Torodol for? Yeah. That. Duh. Use brain cells please. *sigh*
However, I will probably cut back on the salt and stuff, since I got out of the habit of not using salt when my mom passed away. My mom had high blood pressure, so we never used salt. But once she passed away, all my friends were salt-aholics and used it constantly. So I got into the habit of using salt. Certain things, even my mom would put salt on - usually potatoes. LOL But other stuff? No. Good thing I love Mrs. Dash! LOL
You know, a friend of mine happened to read my last post and asked me, if I'm having such money struggles, how am I going to get the ipod for BFL? Well, it's not like I'm going around looking for all kinds of free stuff right now. I'm not checking out free insurance quotes and the like. I simple eliminated my Aaron's bill by returning the laptop (purchased one outright at Walmart when I got my tax refund) and the tables (which while they "finished" my "living room" were doing nothing but collecting junk). Perhaps when I have my finances fully in hand, I will go ahead and find another table set for my living room. But I plan on finding a better place to live - better apartment/house and better neighborhood first. Hopefully closer to work as well.
I'd like to stay in Sioux City, and therefore Iowa, but I would like to move to the Riverside section at the very least. If not Riverside, perhaps the Woodbury Heights apartments. I know they take pets, but I don't know if dogs are included or just cats. We have a couple apartment complexes that only allow cats, so I'd have to check that out. But I am planning on figuring it all out soon. I also need to save up because having a piano, when I'm ready to move, I'll have to actually hire movers to move my belongings. :)
Well, I am finally going to do it. I've been promising BFL one of those pink ipods for about 3 years now, and since I've been seeing them all over the place, I'm going to finally get her one. She's been bugging me about it, since she bought me the Nintendo DS for Christmas last year and I never have delivered on that ipod. :(
I just have to load the money onto my money card so I can buy it. :) I plan on buying it online, so she'll get a surprise. :) I'll have it shipped to her. She won't be expecting a package since she doesn't have a job right now and wouldn't be able to order anything anyways. It'll be a VERY belated birthday present, but I swear, she's getting it this time. I'm not going to let another payday go by without getting it for her! She deserves it and frankly, it's time I made good on that promise. LOL
Ok, so I've been looking for a way to work out that would be easy on my knees. Being that water walking would be good, but not going to work as I don't have a bathing suit I can fit into, that's out. So I thought of possibly trying out something else. I've done the fitness bands before and although they're all right, it's hard to find ones without latex, which I'm allergic to. Then I saw these Kettlebell workouts and decided to see what they're like. Pretty interesting. They're weights, but not traditional weights. You don't have to worry about latex allergies with them, and they have various sizes and weights. I might just have to try those out. ;) Couldn't hurt could it?
I mean, the pilates won't work well right now because some of the positions I have to be in for them require me to have better knees than I do. (Plus, I no longer have my PS2 or my DVD player - long story - so I can't watch the DVD now.) Walking is good exercise but pounding the pavement with my knees isn't a very good idea either. Like I said, water walking doesn't work for me either, so I have to try something. ;)
Although I am not a Christian, I do think that it is nice of my best friend's church to do what they are doing. In May, they are holding a "helping hands" type of workshop. Basically, what they are going to be doing is going out and doing handyman work around elderly people's homes. If church members who are elderly and I'm sure also ones who are disabled, and have odd jobs they need done around the house, they can sign up to have church members come and do those things. Church members willing to help can sign up to be helpers for that. You can't sign up on their website, since it's only for church members but if you want to check out their website anyways it's at Central Assembly of God, Sioux City, IA.
Now obviously, you're not going to see the church people doing things like putting up PVC fence, but maybe fixing a broken door knob, maybe even light plumbing or painting work will probably be the normal for this endeavor. Unfortunately, I can't volunteer to help as the date it's set for is a day I have to work, otherwise, I'd volunteer to help out as much as I could.
One of the things I have never understood is why people would actually go on shows like Maury Povich to try to find out who their kids' dad is. Half the women you see on those shows are testing the second, third, fourth, and in one case I saw, EIGHTH guy to find out who the baby's dad is. Ok, hello? If you sleep around that much, first off, that's just gross. Second off, stop making other people pay for your paternity test and pay for it yourself.
I mean, honestly, if I didn't know who my baby's dad was (if I had a baby) yeah, I'd want to find out, but I'm not going to go on national TV and find out. And if I've got umpteen guys it might belong to, I'd just chalk it up to never knowing and go. Honestly, some people don't have lives.
Anyone who knows me very well knows that I have insomnia. I have discussed it with my doctor and his suggestions are always things like "keep your pets out of your bedroom" and "change your dietary habits" neither of which has ever done me a bit a good. I spent an entire month eating nothing but turkey, chicken, and vegetables, which didn't do me any good. I've locked my pets out of my bedroom only to find that I can't sleep because I miss them being in bed with me. And I have no desire to take sleep aids at all, because frankly, my family has a history of intolerance to them - horrific nightmares do not sound like a good way to get some rest.
The biggest problem I have run into is that I'm pretty sure a big part of it is needing a new bed. I just don't know what kind of bed to get. My friend has a Tempurpedic bed, but even though it's been far less than the 20 years it's guaranteed for, she says she's back to not sleeping well again. I've thought about a sleep number bed as well, but I'm not entirely sure that I want to do that. I don't have a place here that sells them and I don't care for the terms of financing one through the TV ads. So I suppose it'll be a little bit before I obtain a new bed. Hopefully when I do, it'll kick this insomnia for a little while anyways.
Ok, so we all know about my battle with my weight, as I've mentioned it several times on this blog. We also know how dead set against diet pills I am. But I was looking around online and found one that seems very promising. The website has a video that gives you an idea about the pill, which is called Stemulite.
This pill seems to be different from the others I've encountered. For one, it's listed as being all natural. A lot of the diet pills are using chemical compounds created in laboratories for their main ingredients. This one doesn't. Another thing is, it is listed as being able to help you get a better night's sleep. An interesting claim for a weight loss aid. Testimonials from professional athletes and even from a police SWAT sniper provide proof that this is a pill that is legal to use, and does not look to be a pill that will be yanked from the market like so many others have been.
The pill increases endurance and muscle, reduces fat and weight, and helps you get a better night's sleep. Even just the last one would be a benefit to me, as I have a lot of trouble sleeping at night. If you're looking for a boost to your overall health, I recommend checking out the Stemulite website and reading up on it. It looks to be a very promising solution.
