Just wondering. How much can I possibly say about the possible dangers of certain things? How much can I stress knowing beforehand what you are getting into? Is it really so hard to visit a few websites, do a little research, maybe even ask your doctor before you go off on a tangent and start taking all kinds of weight loss pills? I mean honestly.

Now I've known several people who have taken them. I know a couple who did fine on them, and I know one at least who ended up with serious consequences - her kidneys shut down on her. The doctor stated flat out that it was the pills that did it. Now she's living with the constant fear that her kidneys will shut down on her again. If she hears that you're going to take weight loss pills, she'll corner you and tell you what happened to her. We almost lost her and she's not planning on letting it happen to anyone else.

If you're set on using them, at least let your doctor know so they can monitor you for adverse effects. You might be dropping the weight like you want to, but you might also be dropping your health or even your life for it as well.

Now that I'm attempting to go back to school (at 32), I have to start thinking about what I want to actually do with my life. Right now it's computers, but I've also been thinking of doing a Psychology thing as well. I'm just not sure yet. I do know that I'm not going to be happy if they say I have to take PE. Down in Texas, the college I signed up to go to, but never got registered for classes at, required that one of your semesters there include a PE class. They had some interesting classes, and even were considering adding a golf class for PE. Of course, you'd then have some students running out to buy Callaway irons just to take the class. But to each their own. I was going to do the bowling or walking classes myself. :) After all, those are two things I can do. LOL

But my decision right now is - Computer Networking/Information Technology or Psychology? I really won't be able to do anything with either degree unless I go to another school for a Bachelor's anyways, but still. I'm wondering which one I should take.

Who inspires you to be the person you are today?
Submitted by meuuy.

To be honest, I'd actually have to say the Goddess. Frankly, looking around at the world, there aren't too many decent role models in the human world. The Goddess is who inspires me to try to be the best person I can be while still being myself. I don't talk about my faith much on this blog, probably because I have 3 blogs that are dedicated to talking about my faith. LOL However, it's hard to explain but the Goddess is my inspiration in all things. Whether I am writing, humming a little tune, reading my Tarot cards, reading a book, or just staring out at the world, She is who inspires me to do those things.

I guess you can now chalk this post up to the myriad versions of deity that inevitably you'll see people writing on their blogs in answer to today's question. :) I'd be willing to bet there are also a lot of posts that involve parents, grandparents, or siblings as inspiration. :)

In other news, I am scheduled (I think) to go to school on the 30th and take my computerized placement test and register for classes. I've already filled out my FAFSA form and received word back as to what I'm qualified for - which is exactly nothing other than student loans. A couple of years ago I was approved for a couple of student loans for an online school I was trying to get into, but I couldn't come up with another $1000 to pay the last of my tuition and ended up not going to school after all. This college is much less expensive, and I've got a UPromise account started up as well, so I'm hoping that I'll get something saved that way at least. I just hope that I can get the student loans, etc soon so that I know whether or not I can actually pay for school. If I dont' get the loans, I'm up a creek because that means solely out of pocket! I can't afford that right now. :(

When I was in 3rd grade or so, my dad took me out and bought me a piano. I'd been taking lessons for about 2 years at that point and he thought that having my own piano, that I picked out, instead of the rented piece of junk we had would get me more interested in practicing. Well, it didn't and after he got sick 2 years later, I stopped taking lessons and stopped playing for the most part. But I still have the piano.

It's in really rough shape though. I wish I lived in New Jersey so I could get some piano repair NJ from Lindeblad Piano Restoration. I was looking over their website and they do some beautiful work. I have a Kimball spinet-style upright, and Kimball is one of the brands they restore. I so wish I could have them restore my piano. After having moved several times, it not only needs to be tuned badly, but there's cosmetic damage to the piano as well. :( Someday I'll have the money and I'll have it restored. I can only hope that Lindeblad will still be around at that time, because I really want them to do it!

Oh my gosh. I have no idea what that would be. LOL I mean, I've come up with some pretty interesting things in order to have a reason for making a payment arrangement for something, but as far as a big fat lie, I have no idea what I would use for that. I honestly don't.

I'm dreading tomorrow - because I have to work tomorrow. Back to that horrible place that I work. I guess it's not too bad - after all, I have a job and I'm getting paid a decent wage, but still. The atmosphere just isn't something I like. And frankly, for a company that says they don't like their reps to use scripts and so they don't provide any, they sure do have a lot of verbatim statements we need to say. Some of them don't even make a bit of sense. Like having us have the customers press 1 when they use a debit card - which does nothing but make a beep in our ear. They don't have to do it if they use a credit card, but they do if they use a debit card. But yet we don't ask them if they're using a credit or debit card. *rolls eyes* Yeah, I'm hoping to find a different job and soon. LOL

I swear, I just got up and I'm already tired. My back has been hurting me for a couple of days, my knee is killing me (has been for a couple of weeks now) and my ankle isn't doing too peachy either. None of this is motivating me to do anything like exercise. Of course, I know there is no miracle diet pill that is going to actually just melt the weight off me without me doing anything else.

At least now there are sites that actually give the general public information about the various diet aides out there and will even list the top 10 pills in the diet pill industry. So if I were to consider taking one, I can get a good handle on my options and make a decision. However, I'm not looking to do that. I just hope my back, knee, and ankle stop being pigheaded so I can actually exercise for more than 3 minutes at a time!

What was the best thing about your weekend?

The best thing about my weekend? That would probably be Sunday. Because I'm off. I work a 10 hour day, 4 days a week. I work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. So truthfully, it would be Sunday that's the best thing about my weekend. Or maybe Saturday at 9PM, since that's when I get off work and don't have to be back until Monday at 10AM.

As a side note, there are people who should not be allowed to have credit cards much less a satellite radio system. Trust me on this one. Those people are out there, and they are many. I've had several over the past week. I understand that your credit card says we charged you today. What you're not understanding is that we don't have any record of you being charged. That being said, there is nothing we can do until it actually goes completely through on your credit card - then you can fax us a copy of the statement and we can fix the problem. What is so hard to understand about that? Sheesh!

There is an Alice Cooper concert coming to Sioux City on August 10th. I'd like to go but that's probably not going to happen what with my finances at this point. I can handle that. But if I do get to go, I'm sure going to be glad that I won't feel like I need a tactical vest to survive the show! LOL You know the kind of concerts I mean - the ones with the mosh pits. Sure, I know someone who has done mosh pits, and she says there is an etiquette involved, but still. To be perfectly honest, I'm the type of person who would end up in a mosh pit with the jerks who just don't care about anyone else. I'm not sure if Godsmack had a mosh pit. I was too far back to see it if they did. But I wouldn't doubt they did!

I am a NASCAR fan. My favorite driver? Tony Stewart by a long shot. Kyle Busch is my 2nd favorite. Now Tony Stewart recently announced that he was leaving Joe Gibbs Racing and buying into Haas Racing, making it Stewart Haas Racing. He'll be a driver owner. This means leaving the #20 and Home Depot behind. Ok, it does make me sad but Tony knows what he's doing.

One of the guys at work saw my Tony Stewart cooler I use as a lunchbox and told me I wouldn't be able to use it next year. I asked why and he said because it's #20 and Home Depot. I said so what. LOL Who cares? I'll do whatever I want to. I'm not retiring my #20 stuff just because Tony's not in the car anymore. However my #20 merchandise will not be gracing my desk at work. After November it'll all be collector's items and I'm not risking someone snagging them! No sirree!

Ok, I understand that it's all the rage to take various supplements and whatnot for just about everything under the sun. But the inundation of spam for those supplements is getting to be a bit on the annoying side. Honestly, I don't need any more spam mail regarding these supplements. I'm not a man. I don't need THAT kind of supplement, and I sure as heck don't need Viagra! About the only type of medication I don't get spam for are the diet pills! I'm actually surprised I don't get spam mail for those. At least one group has figured not to spam! Sheesh! (This is my rant after downloading my email to find more spam than real mail in it!)
